Chin implants

The face is largely defined by its external shape. A flat, broad or overly pointed chin can have a negative impact on the shape of the face and a recessed chin (also known as a receding chin) has a negative effect on the profile of the face. Various treatment techniques can be used to adjust the shape of the chin and improve the region of the chin and lower jaw (jawline).

Certain points on the face define its shape: the zygomatic arches as well as the lower jawline and also the chin make a decisive contribution to the shape of the face.
An underdeveloped chin is also known as a receding chin. Such a feature is particularly noticeable in profile, i.e. when viewed from the side. The solution is relatively simple, as a wide range of modern implants are available to correct the chin.
A distinction is made between implants that are simply placed in a suitable pocket above the lower jaw bone and those that are fixed to the bone using small screws. Both implants have advantages and disadvantages. Access can be under the chin or through the mouth. We can only decide which technique is best in a particular case in consultation with you as the patient.
For further information, please see the bottom of the page. This is where the advantages and disadvantages of the procedures are presented and the risks and side effects are explained. However, this cannot replace a personal consultation (also via video), in which these aspects are explained and adapted individually. We therefore look forward to a personal consultation with you!
