Lip reduction

Although many patients at our clinic are interested in lip augmentation, there are also patients who suffer from lips that are too voluminous. Lips that are too large disrupt the anatomy of the face to the same extent as lips that are too small. Lip volume can be corrected very easily with a simple, minor procedure. Find out everything you need to know about lip reduction here.
Reduction of the upper lip, reduction of the lower lip

Sociability | (e.g. invitation to dinner) after about 10 days to 2 weeks |
Sport | after about 1-2 weeks |
Pain | low to medium |
The desire for a lip reduction is expressed much less frequently than a lip augmentation. This is usually the case if the lips are genetically very large (African or African-American, Asian patients).
Full lips are beautiful, but too much volume can also be annoying! Male patients in particular prefer narrow, masculine lips. Lip reduction (upper lip and/or lower lip) is a very safe and reliable operation, which in most cases can even be performed under local anaesthetic.
The target volume can be chosen relatively freely and can thus be adapted to the other lip, for example. It is also possible to reduce the size of both lips in one operation! The stitches used are self-dissolving, so that the aftercare is uncomplicated. Only a downtime of approx. 7-10 days due to swelling and slight bruising is recommended.
Thanks to skilful planning on the inside of the lip, there are no visible scars on the outside.
For further information, please see the bottom of the page. This is where the advantages and disadvantages of the procedures are presented and the risks and side effects are explained. However, this cannot replace a personal consultation (also via video), in which these aspects are explained and adapted individually. We therefore look forward to a personal consultation with you!
