Acne is not only a major burden for those affected during puberty, but often also leaves scars on the skin.
Due to the constant inflammation and the formation of small abscesses (pimples), the skin is constantly stressed and reacts with the formation of scar tissue. This results in an uneven, disturbed surface appearance of the skin. Small acne scars are still visible in adulthood and are reminiscent of the difficult time of puberty.
There can be many causes of skin disorders. One possible cause is acne in adolescence. The skin is damaged and small, sunken scars form on the surface of the skin. These are visible for a lifetime and also bother older patients, as they remind them of the stressful time of acne and prevent a smooth complexion.
The treatment options for acne scars are varied. For example, we can build up the connective tissue by injecting certain medications, we can use various techniques to smooth the skin surface and thus improve the surface appearance. In any case, the treatment of acne scars is a so-called multimodal treatment: different techniques and treatments are combined to achieve a good result.
