Hylase (dissolving hyaluronic acid)

A major advantage of synthetically produced hyaluronic acid is that it can be dissolved again by injecting a special enzyme. The medication required for this is also known as hylase.
Dissolving hyaluronic acid (hylase treatment)
If too much hyaluronic acid has been injected in certain areas and the resulting effects are too intense or completely undesirable, a special injection can be used to remedy the situation. The synthetically produced hyaluronic acid is dissolved by an enzyme that can break down the individual chains of hyaluronic acid. If this is injected into the identical, i.e. previously treated areas, the effect of the hyaluronic acid can be reversed. A common example is patients who come to us after having their lips treated (lip augmentation) in another practice because the volume is too large and the effect is perceived as too unnatural. A simple injection can help here: We inject a special medication into the lips that dissolves the volume.
