Lip augmentation

Changing the shape and volume of the lips is one of the most common treatments in plastic and aesthetic surgery. We offer our patients all available forms of treatment at the Rosengarten Clinic.
Lip augmentation with hyaluronic acid
Full and sensual lips have been considered attractive at all times. The ratio between the upper and lower lip should be 1:1.5, i.e. the lower lip should be slightly larger than the upper lip. A second important feature of the upper lip is its heart shape, the so-called philtrum. This is the central part of the lip, which curves upwards in a double shape and gives the lip its sensual character.
We offer various lip augmentation treatments at the Praxisklinik am Rosengarten. The simplest form is injection with hyaluronic acid, an artificial filler that can be injected into the upper and lower lip under local anaesthetic. The result is immediately visible and lasts for around six months. However, there are also other techniques that lead to an increase in lip volume, for example the use of autologous fat tissue or the dermal strip surgical technique developed by us.
If you are interested in lip augmentation without the use of injectable fillers, the so-called lip flip may be an option. Here, minimal doses of botulinum toxin are used to achieve targeted inactivation of the muscles in the mouth area, causing the lip to be sensually turned outwards.
For further information, please see the bottom of the page. This is where the advantages and disadvantages of the procedures are presented and the risks and side effects are explained. However, this cannot replace a personal consultation (also via video), in which these aspects are explained and adapted individually. We therefore look forward to a personal consultation with you!
Who is it for?
Details
After we have analysed the initial situation and discussed your ideas with you, the face is cleaned and disinfected and an anaesthetic cream is applied. This must be left on for approx. 15 minutes so that the lips have reached the level of anaesthesia required for the treatment. The planned amount of hyaluronic acid is then injected via several small punctures to give the upper and lower lip the desired volume.
After treatment
Results & risks
In rare cases, bruising may occur, but this can be easily covered up. The swelling after the injection goes down within a few hours, so that you are usually fit for work again the next day.
