Neck lift with stitches

Ageing and sagging skin on the neck can be disturbing in both frontal and profile views. Surgical procedures are not always necessary to improve the quality of the neck skin. A good improvement can already be achieved with collagen-induced sutures and thread lifting.
Neck lift without surgery
More than almost any other skin, the skin on the neck is constantly exposed to gravity. The organs in the oral cavity press from above and pull the skin further and further down as we age. Changes in the collagen structure can also lead to fine wrinkles and a sagging appearance in the neck skin. In the vernacular, this is often referred to as a turkey neck.
Modern aesthetic medicine can remedy this with various surgical procedures. However, there are also non-surgical techniques that can be used to improve the skin structure of the neck.
These include various injection techniques such as treatment with hyaluronic acid or polylactic acid, but also the stimulation of collagen production using certain self-dissolving, very fine threads. Other threads can also be used to tighten and thus smooth the skin on the neck.
Collagen-inducing threads and tightening threads can also be used in combination on the neck, but usually in two stages. Firstly, the skin on the neck should be built up and the collagen content increased so that the skin on the neck can then be effectively tightened in a second step.
For further information, please see the bottom of the page. This is where the advantages and disadvantages of the procedures are presented and the risks and side effects are explained. However, this cannot replace a personal consultation (also via video), in which these aspects are explained and adapted individually. We therefore look forward to a personal consultation with you!
Who is it for?
Details
If the skin is sufficiently stable, the tightening can be carried out with a thread lift. The treatment is relatively painless and does not require anaesthesia, only a local anaesthetic. Threads with fine barbs are inserted into the subcutaneous tissue through small openings, allowing the skin to be carefully pulled towards the hairline or ear. The fine horizontal threads are treated separately if necessary and can thus also be improved.
After treatment
Results & risks
The result after a thread lift of the neck is immediately visible. In the first few days, the tension is still a little too strong, as we intentionally pull the skin a little harder than would be desirable for the long-term result. However, as the skin gives way somewhat, a correction is necessary. This also results in a downtime of approx. 3-4 days.
