Dr Spanholtz sponsors Cologne sailor
Lina Rixgen, a young medical student from Cologne, wants to be the first woman to complete the legendary MINI TRANSAT sailing race this year.
One of the toughest single-handed races in the world takes the sailors from La Rochelle across the Canary Islands and from here across the Atlantic in one piece. The entire race is completed alone and in a small, only 6.50 metre long racer boat of the Classe Mini named after the race. Lina's boat is called Mini Doc to match the skipper.
GO, LINA, GO!
Lina Rixgen, the young medical student from Cologne, who interrupted her studies for the race and moved to La Rochelle for training, started together with 80 ambitious sailors, including only 10 women. Lina is the only German sailor in the field and would be the first German ever to finish the race.
