Penis enlargement: surgery for everyone?

The lengthening and thickening of the male penis has been one of the established and frequently performed procedures at the Am Rosengarten practice clinic for years. But is penis enlargement surgery suitable for every man?

Over the last decade, we have developed into a specialized center for these procedures in Germany and beyond and carry out consultations and treatments for the intimate area almost every day. But who are the patients who turn to us for penis enlargement? What role does the diagnosis of "micropenis" play and what are the motives of men who suffer from the length of their penis or want to improve it?

Since time immemorial, men have felt in competition with their male competitors. They want to look good compared to women in terms of their physique and to prevail against other competitors in lovemaking. These mechanisms, which also correspond to the biological nature of "other animals", are just as valid today as they were 2000 years ago. Cultural changes that accompany sexuality have rarely defined them clearly, and some men claim that sexual fitness is not important to them. If a man is offered the opportunity to get rid of his beer belly, show more muscles or have a larger penis, the decision is usually easy: the old mechanism takes effect and men want a good body image.

It follows that a man does not have to suffer from a noticeably small penis in order to visit the Am Rosengarten practice clinic for a penis enlargement. The opposite is the case: the majority of our patients have a normal anatomy with dimensions that are common in our culture.

Incidentally, penis length and penis thickness do not differ worldwide according to ethnicity, but rather individually. This means that two Europeans can have completely different measurements, just as two Asians or Africans can have very different endowments. In this respect, our patients include "average men": young men and pensioners, slim and athletic patients as well as overweight patients, family fathers, homosexuals, managers and men of all cultural origins. Our patients are as diverse as our society, and most men are simply interested in improving their intimate areas without reporting massive levels of suffering.

Of course, when asked more closely, it becomes clear that the individual penis length or thickness is subjectively perceived as too small. These men often report experiences in public showers or saunas where they compare themselves to other men and feel they are too small. The English and Americans refer to this phenomenon as "shower syndrome" because this realization often occurs in public showers.

When we then measure the penis length and thickness more precisely in our clinic, a different picture often emerges: penis length and thickness are more or less normal - and yet the men still want a corresponding procedure to lengthen or thicken the penis.

The desire for penis enlargement affects men of all genders, all age groups and all physical conditions. It is not unusual to think about this issue and, if necessary, to seek help, provided that it can be offered safely and professionally.
