More alert look thanks to upper eyelid lift

A younger, fresher appearance with a more alert look - a minor procedure such as an upper eyelid lift is often enough to achieve this.

You would be surprised to learn how many patients come to our clinic for complex treatments without realising the ‘obvious’! The desire for a more youthful and fresher appearance leads to the idea that a facelift or other complicated operations are necessary. Patients are prepared to go to great lengths to look younger and fresher. However, a small operation lasting around 30 minutes can often make a huge difference: an upper eyelid lift!

A small operation can remove the excess skin on the upper eyelid and give the face a significantly younger, alert and fresher appearance.

In aesthetic surgery, these operations are called ‘blepharoplasty’ (upper eyelid lift). They can be performed under local anaesthetic or under a short general anaesthetic and are often the icing on the cake. This means that we are happy to perform an upper eyelid lift in combination with other operations if you as the patient are asleep anyway and can undergo the procedures pain-free. The upper eyelid lift is therefore the perfect ‘little sister’ because we can tighten the upper eyelids with almost any other operation.

During an upper eyelid lift, excess skin is removed and (if present) the fat between the eyebrow and eyelashes is reduced, so that a natural and large opening of the eyes reappears. The gaze is unobstructed, alert and attentive and the face immediately takes on a different expression.

In many cases, friends and colleagues notice a positive change without being able to pinpoint the exact cause. During consultations, we therefore often say that the upper eyelid lift is a very natural treatment with an ‘over-the-top’ effect. The results are very natural and unobtrusive, the scars are almost invisible and the downtime is short - the effects are visible for around 7-10 days. There is probably no better cosmetic surgery procedure for naturally rejuvenating a face than the upper eyelid lift.
